Yesterday evening, Laura and I decided to make the most of the gorgeous weather by going for a cycle. We wanted to go somewhere new for a change of scenery however. I remembered about the Balfour forest entrance we had recently driven passed so we set off towards Birse in search of a nice mountain bike track. The Balfour forest certainly delivered, it was a lovely gentle climb up the forestry commission track to the top of the hill.
From there we left the bikes and decided to go on by foot to get right to the edge of the hillside allowing us a cracking view over the Dee valley to the North & East.
I shall definitely be re-visiting this spot again, perhaps in the winter time.
